The JLA/NETSCC is working with a group doing a prioritisation exercise to identify and prioritise future research questions around the way in which participants are recruited to clinical trials. Their first step is a survey which is open until 7th August. The website is here https://www.hrb-tmrn.ie/priority-prioritising-recruitment-in-randomised-trials/.
They are asking for the following groups of people to respond to the survey and share their experiences of recruitment to clinical trials:
- Members of the public who have been approached to take part in a randomised trial by a health professional or researcher
- Members of the public who have taken part in randomised trial steering committees
- Health Professionals and research staff who have ever been involved in helping people to join randomised trails
- People who have designed, conducted, analysed or reported on randomised trials
- Anyone with experience of the methods of randomised trials.
The aim of the survey is to collect and then prioritise areas for research around methods of recruitment to trials. They hope that this will help shape future research and improve the process of how people get involved in trials and the numbers of people that take part.
