Kit Byatt
Director of Education, Forrest MLS
Kit did his medical training in London before becoming a consultant general physician and geriatrician for 26 years, first in King’s Lynn and then Hereford. He was the clinical lead for dementia in Hereford for over a decade and his practice was as much informed by his mother’s dementia illness as by the literature. He has a wide range of interests in medicine, tries to learn more about evidence-based practice and is passionate about teaching, having been a clinical tutor twice. Since retirement he has become involved with human rights medicine, and in in particular asylum-seekers. As well as being a member of Cochrane, and active on Crowd Cochrane, he was a member of the James Lind alliance heart failure priority setting partnership, is a senior advisor to Cause Health, is a Wikipedia editor, and is active on Twitter. In the absence of pandemics, he plays ukulele and guitar in a ceilidh band.
Kit spoke at 'Virtually Cochrane', a virtual event we co-hosted with Cochrane Ireland in April 2021. Watch the recording Better health decisions. Using Cochrane evidence in shared decision-making
