NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships applications open

The 2017 Round of the NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships scheme is now open for applications and will close on Friday 27th January 2017 at 1:00 pm. Please note all applications for this round must be made using the online TCCi Award Management System. The guidance notes for host organisations are available from the related content on the right hand side of this page and must be read in full.

Eligibility

Applications to host a NIHR Systematic Review Fellow are restricted to:

  • NIHR Senior Investigators; either those in post or those who have previously held the post, including Emeritus Senior Investigators, who are currently based at an institute in England. 
    OR
  • Anyone at a senior level currently based at an institute in England who has received funding to support the NIHR Systematic Reviews Programme; either through the NIHR Cochrane Programme Grant Scheme, NIHR Systematic Reviews Programme Infrastructure funding or Technology Appraisal Review Teams.

Recruitment

Recruitment for the NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships is conducted and managed by the individual institutions in which the Principal Investigators are based. 

Fellowship

NIHR Systematic Fellowships will:

  • Address the current shortage of systematic reviewers;
  • Provide training at the earliest stages of career; and
  • Support individuals from any discipline, thereby expanding the potential pool.

These Fellowships will be for 2 years and provide dedicated time for the Fellow to undertake structured training and gain systematic review experience in a high-quality environment as well as pursue a relevant Masters degree or training (short courses) dependent on their needs.

The majority of Fellowships will start in September or October 2017 and at the latest by 31st March 2018. 

It is envisaged that a maximum of 5 NIHR Systematic Review Fellowships will be awarded in this funding round.
