New study to look into best treatment for hand condition

A new study is comparing two methods of treatment for Dupuytren’s Contracture. Dupuytren’s Contracture is the fourth most common problem affecting the hand in the UK. The disorder, occurring mostly in adult men, is caused by fibrous tissue forcing the finger to bend down into the palm of the hand. Read the full article.

Researchers have found that the Weight Action Programme (WAP) helps people to maintain weight loss after one year. Obesity is a growing problem in the UK that is contributing to health inequalities. Testing online treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS/ME)

Over 700 children and young people are to take part in the largest clinical trial ever undertaken in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), which affects up to two per cent of young people, most of whom do not have access to treatment. Read the full article.

Results of a 15 year trial into the treatment of aortic aneurysms published

Research comparing endovascular repair of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms with the traditional open repair method has published its results in The Lancet after a 15 year follow up. Read the full article.
