Cochrane UK & Ireland Symposium 2017

""

Each year, Cochrane UK organizes an annual symposium for all our networks, including UK- & Ireland-based Cochrane contributors, researchers, health professionals, students, charities, patient advocates, and other interested groups. This year's symposium took place at Keble College, Oxford 14th & 15th March 2017 with the theme - Cochrane: Through the Looking Glass.

Cochrane UK & Ireland Symposium 2017 - Cochrane: Through the Looking Glass

“What a strange world we live in...Said Alice to the Queen of Hearts”

Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Alice passed through the looking glass, to a magical, fantastic, and in many ways rather peculiar world, beyond.  A world that wasn't simply “exactly the same, but back to front”.  What does the world beyond the reflection look like for evidence synthesis in health care in general and Cochrane in particular in the UK and Ireland?

We look forward to welcoming you to Oxford for the 2017 Symposium. Our theme is not one of whimsy and fantasy; rather we invite you to reflect on the changing times we live in, and the many possibilities the future brings for evidence synthesis and those who use it.

“Alice had begun to think that very few things indeed were really impossible.”

Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland
